Fowler's prayer

Our Fowler
Thou art is scoring
Robbie be thy name
Thy transfer has been done
On a free as it is in January
Give us this day our favourite Red
Alonso will give you the best passes
As Carra stops those who pass against us
Deliver us the title
And lead us not into relegation
For eleven is your number
Forever and ever
Our man

You've got to be kidding

Oh, c'mon, the FA's taking the piss - were revenues not enough for the last round; things hard up with Sven going with loads of FA dosh in his back pocket; shurely shome mistake or a fix then to draw us against the scum in the next round of the cup.

Anyways, anyhows, despite their cunning plans, we shall overcome, after all we have God on our side (even if he is cup-tied, his spirit shall infuse us with grace and goals)

And to all the Scum fans who texted me, remind me which round of the Champions League you are in...oh that's right, you're not in any round

Mugged in Manchester

Oh, bloody hell! I had to wait until today to type this entry, otherwise it would have simply been swearing!

Mugged!

The Mancs may taunt us with accusations of lawlessness and general 'scally'ness, but it was daylight robbery that the Scum took the three points....No truth be told, the real reason we lost was the lack of finishing.

Even Stevie G looked short of ideas.

Peter 'Hightower' Crouch was off his game, Cisse was on a different planet to the rest of the players and when Nando came on he was anonymous. Wee Flo was the only one who looked dangerous and even then not really threatening Van Der Saar's goal.

But take heart (we have to!) and read the following from Joe Doyle for a reasonable analysis of how much we've progressed.

God strikes down the unfaithful ones

Okay, he may not be God for us anymore, but young Mr Fowler at least had the final say when City crushed the scum. What with us winning, we are in good shape to move into second place. That is if we can hold it together in coming weeks, starting at Old Trafford on Sunday.

How many goalies does a team need?

It's called the transfer window. Some call it a time when bungs and dodgy deals are rife. Truth is it is the time when the competition opens to see how many goalies a squad can have. Fergie, Wenger and Murhino all felt the tears of defeat when Liverpool signed MK Dons keeper David Martin. Rafa said in an exclusive interview for 'The Joy of Liverpool FC': "Ha! Manager of the Month! Got that one! But eat my dust Fergie I now have 78 goalkeepers! Beat that!"

And we got another Scandanavian defender to go with our Dutch right wingback...happy days; I think

Heart beating again

The heart has barely slowed down to a regular beat after Saturday. The game was made, but the real reasons I was waiting to post were twofold - firstly to see how the scum did; and second to see who we got in the draw.

Well the scum faltered and we drew Portsmouth. Now I can talk about the match. As a follower of Liverpool I can say that after so many thrilling games no-one can deny the team's fighting spirit.

And on the official website there is an article from James Carroll, who writes for the Shankly Gates site, which sums up the match very well. You can find it at http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/NG151081060109-1902.htm

Happy reading and roll on Saturday's game against Spurs - hope we win in a more sedate manner!

No further action

News reaches us (thanks BBC Radio Five Live) that no further FA action is to be taken against Gerrard and Sissoko following the game against Bolton.

First of all, Stevie G allegedly stamped on Kevin Nolan; who promptly admitted it was an accident even if his manager disagreed! Then Sissoko clearly was wrong of a dreadful kick/stamp. Young man (as Cloughie might have said) you got away with that one!

Now on to the FA Cup. Luton. And it is on the BBC live at 5.30 on Saturday night. Dear Rafa, after last year's FA Cup abortion a couple of useful hints: Don't pick Traore; and pick a team that WANTS to win!

It couldn't last, but don't be downhearted

It couldn't last, but don't be downhearted, for 2006 is dawning with hopeful hearts. Sam's bully boys found it a wee bit rough for them, but we still should have beaten them...
Now for the FA Cup and a 2006 which should see us consolidate. But a word of caution, we need to be beating the teams around us, not just the also rans!
