Talking Japanese

The old new wave group The Vapors [sic] had a single called Talking Japanese. It was pretty good, but the 'B' side was better (Here Comes the Judge). I sincerely hope that Liverpool have come back from Japan ready for some serious training and not waffling about Sake and kimonos. See, the Judge is coming, and he'll be laying down his sentencing from Christmas until May; hopes may be high that he'll deliver a verdict in favour of the mighty reds progress, otherwise us supporters might be doing some serious hard time listening to the wankers that claim to be fans of other teams (notice how many Chelsea fans crawled out of the closet recently...). So, in the words of The Vapors hit Talking Japanese can I commend that the players, until May, indulge in 'No sex, no drugs, no you know what'!

Chosen One? I think not!

Is the Chosen One's halo slipping? It certainly seems to be in the face of ever more determined play by our team of chosen ones!

Okay, it wasn't exactly a match to set the world alight in terms of skill, but it was nevertheless ample proof that Liverpool are now in better shape than they have been in long, many a year!

And, let's just consider how many times Liverpool have been denied legitimate penalty shouts against Chelsea. And let's consider how many times Chelsea players should have been sent off against us. Remember Drogba throwing his hands out on Alonso in the league game they beat us in Anfield? That was just before he scored. And last night that horrendous tackle by Essien.

The fates, stars and referees seem to be shining on Chelsea (or the Roman oil emperor's cash...) yet still they are not champions of Europe. WE ARE!

Crouch breals duck - what next

Saturday's win laid a few ghosts to rest, including the end, at last, for Crouch's goal drought. And with 6 wins in a row and 8 clean sheets all should be rosy...

But, we may be third in the league, but we should all be cautious. Let's not get overcome with the excitement of it all. Our current run comes against weak opposition, and there is now an especially hectic period for all our players - a period when we face tougher opposition in a range of tournaments (not least Luton in the FA Cup :) ).

We need to remain focussed, Gerrard needs to re-discover his scoring form and we need to tighten up on the right side.

But, here's hoping the renaissance continues!

Five in a row

Another win - cutting down the might bough that is Sunderland - and now for Wigan...
