After the joy...
SUNDAY's result was a reality check. After being at Anfield for the Wigan draw I am now fairly cerrtain that the initial buzz of the new Dalgligh reign is now well past the Honeymoon period.
The Sparta games and the West Ham defeat show that Liverpool's squad is too threadbare and has too many gaps in quality midfield.
With Martin Kelly out for a wee while (TBC) and all awaiting Carroll's début we know we can raise our game against the scum, but will it be enuogh?
And even if we beat the scum, will the rest of the season fade out? Quite literally if we are to gain even a Europa League spot we must win ALL our remaining games.
Wigan here we come
After all the waffle and expended talk about Judas Torres, me and the son are heading off to see us play Wigan at Anfield on Saturday! His first experience of Anfield, my first of the new Boot Room restaurant...can't wait!
Just go
If you don't want to wear the Liver Bird upon your chest Fernando - just go! LFC is bigger than any one player. You should give the armband to someone who deserves to wear it. We'll still be singing YNWA when you are a distant memory
Stevie G and England
THE punters and plaudits applauded Stevie G's contribution to England playing through the middle against Bulgaria; that would be the same people who said his best position was 'playing in the hole'
What did emerge was that there is no way Stevie and Lampard should play together...one is Frank, and we've seen all those drug advertisements about Frank; the other is an almighty general worthy of only praise and dedication. Lampard...a feckin' lampost next to Stevie G!
Despair not...
Okay, it was crap; the result that is! Getting beaten 3-0 is bad, but I do not despair.
For the first time in a long time I did not wail with disbelief at the failings, for I think that Woy will take a wittle time to have his side bed in to his way of thinking.
Unfortunately the ill-informed will still ring the phone in shows uttering twaddle.
Let's wait until December to see, and maybe, just maybe we can be shot of the Yanks by then!
Returning to joy
LEFT thius blog alone while we were having too many false dawns under Rafa, but after watching today's game against Arsenal one cannpt but wonder if fate is conspiring against LFC!
MUGGED!
Damn am I so pissed off at being mugged by the scum on Saturday! But given a choice (at gunpoint and at the mercy of Jack Bauer) I'd take a win against Barcelona on Tuesday night!
